Rudy von Berg

Rudy Von Berg is a professional triathlete rising rapidly to prominence. Currently ranked 10th in the world, he has won several 70.3 triathlon races, but now wants to follow his father’s footsteps into the long course of Ironman racing. Coming to the sport at an early age was triggered by his trip to Hawaii in 1998 where his father, one of the pioneers of triathlon in Belgium, went on to win his 40-44 age group in the Kona Ironman.

In this interview, Claire and I wanted to learn from Rudy about the benefits of coming to the sport at such a young age, moving up to the long course, using gravel racing to improve his performance and his approach to fuelling his races.
